STEP 1: BE PASSIONATE
To go From Beginner to Pro Video Editor You need to first have a passion for video amongst other things!

STEP 2: MASTER THE SOFTWARE OF YOUR CHOICE
Whether you decide to use Adobe Premiere Pro, Davinci Resolve, Final Cut, Avid Media Composer, or something else, I'd highly suggest Mastering one of them before branching out to the others.

STEP 3: FIND MENTORSHIP
Aspiring editors typically start as assistant editors to experienced pro video editors, gradually learning the intricacies of the trade through observation and practice.

STEP 4: BUILD A STRONG PORTFOLIO
This serves as a tangible proof of your abilities, allowing potential employers or clients to see firsthand what you can accomplish. A well-rounded portfolio demonstrates your experience with various editing styles and software, showcasing your adaptability and technical expertise.

STEP 5: LEARN MOTION GRAPHICS
Of course being a Motion Graphics Artist is it’s own skill separate from editing, but the two are very closely related. This is going to expand your creative toolkit, allowing you to enhance your videos with dynamic visual elements that can significantly improve the overall production value.

BONUS STEP: LEVERAGE SOCIAL MEDIA
its a new day in age, and if you aren't leveraging social media then you are bound to get less traction, as it's dominating the world currently, and you need to learn to use it as a promotional tool.
