Gloucester lodge farm is located between the town of Blyth and the village of Seaton Sluice in South East Northumberland. The farm is a coastal one – quite literally being located along the length of sand dunes that populate the long sandy shoreline of Blyth Beach.

This farm and its surrounding land is steeped in history, from old settlements, through industrial changes and even wartime activities.
The location of these fields is a protected one. The Seaton Delaval Conservation Area dictates the views and future development of this land - the spread-out fields at Gloucester Lodge Farm being looked over by nearby Delaval Hall.

This video was shot during the harvest at Gloucester Lodge Farm in 2024. We follow the harvesting of a cereal crop, the transportation of gathered seed to the farm and also the baling of the straw left behind after the crop has been won.
Farming is an essential industry in this country. Without farming, it's doubtful whether you or I would be around to enjoy this area.
