Rails to Trails Conservancy and Warrior Expeditions, an outdoor therapy program that helps veterans transition from their wartime experiences through long-distance outdoor expeditions, hosted a celebration at the U.S. Capitol on May 8, 2024 to mark the impact of the Great American Rail-Trail® five years since this iconic national trail was introduced. A team of veterans also started their bike ride across the country along the developing 3,700-mile route of the Great American Rail-Trail.
