The choir that accompanied the songs of the prayers in the Great Temple built by King Solomon was made up of the Levites (Leviim). They had a privileged place between the place where the Cohanim (plural of Cohen, Priests) and the Israel (the people) were concentrated, standing on three steps 70 meters wide.
The Levites used to sing standing up, even those who held heavy musical instruments like harps.

According to scientific research, as soon as the First Temple was inaugurated, there were 24,000 Levites, poets and singers, and more than 4,000 who knew how to play musical instruments. They were divided into 24 weekly shifts, so each week more than a thousand (1166) played and sang in the Great Temple. In order to play or sing, the Levites had to study for at least 5 years, so we can deduce the number of musical schools that were in the vicinity of the Great Temple. They dressed like the group we see in this song.

Thousands of years have passed and in the video we see a choir trying to imitate them called "Ha Leviim" (The Levites). We see them on the Mediterranean coast, in Yafo, singing while a wedding couple enters the Jupah (religious Jewish ceremony) on their wedding day.

The theme and the video are so beautiful that I wanted to share them with you. They added other traditional wedding lyrics to the music of the song Aleluia and together with a beautiful and simple choreography they transformed the most beautiful moment of the wedding into something unforgettable.
The Rabbi who case them is the famous, prestigious and respected Meir Lau, that Holocaust survivor who adopted as soon as this musical band was formed less than two years ago.
