Chocolate Chip Cookies
3/4 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup Crisco shortening
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated white sugar
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
12 ounce package milk chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375°.
In a bowl, beat together butter and shortening with mixer on medium high speed for 30 seconds. Add the brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking soda, and salt. Beat until mixture is combined, scraping down the sides of the bowl. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Beat in the flour a little at a time. Stir in the chocolate chips.
Drop dough by rounded spoonfuls 2 inches apart onto a parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 9 minutes or until edges are barely light brown. 
****NOTE- Scoops of unbaked cookie dough may be placed on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet and frozen. Once frozen, seal in a freezer bag until ready to use. To bake, place desired number of cookies 2 inches apart on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet and bake in 375° oven for 12-14 minutes or until barely beginning to brown around the edges.
