About LA DESSALINIENNE (Old & New Version)

The National Anthem of Haiti was written not in the year of Haiti independence which is 1804. La Dessalinienne was written 100 years later, in 1903 to celebrate the country's 100 years of independence. The words were written by Justin Lherisson and the music, by Fabre Nicholas Geffrard and was named after the leader of the Haiti revolution, Jean-Jacques Dessalines.

This new version of "La Dessalinienne" was rearranged, produced and performed by the young Haitian music composer and trumpeter Jonathan Laurince . His rendition was made for a Brass Quintet ensemble that he put together with the accompaniment of a full orchestra which gives the anthem a more noble and royal impression.
This new rendition of the Haitian National anthem will be officially released alone with a short Music Video that Mr. Laurince produced entitled "LA DESSALINIENNE ,The Movie" on May 18th 2012 which is the Haitian Flag Day Celebration. It will be aired on almost all the television networks and all the radio stations that are interested in uplifting and saluting the courage of the Haitian people.

The Brass only and the full orchestra version of the anthem are available to be downloaded on iTunes, Tunecore, CDbaby and Rhythmqwest.com and will be featured in the upcoming project of Mr. Laurince called "GRAS POU HAITI". The music sheets for each instrument and full score are also available upon request.

Please show your support by downloading the new version. Tell a friend, a family member and specially this new generation that is evolving outside of the Republic of Haiti, make sure that it is being aired on the Radio and all the Television networks in your area. Let us encourage the pride of being Haitian again.
Thank You.
