This week, our school spotlight shines on the Beacons of Beech Hill Elementary School!
The Beacons have been shining brightly this month with some terrific events in their school. In second grade, students got to show off their knowledge of goods, services, buyers, sellers, supply, and demand by participating in “Market Day”! Students developed marketing plans and sold their personal creations or provided services to their peers. They advertise, design, and add slogans to rake in the “Beacon Bucks” from their fellow students.
Also this month was the “Tied to Brightness” ceremony. This ceremony is marked with each 5th grade boy receiving their Beech Hill necktie as a symbolic benchmark of their growth. These neckties become symbols of luck in their future and have been seen at job interviews, proms, and walking across the stage at graduation.
