The KitchenAid K400 blender comes with a 1200-watt heavy motor weighing 16lbs. The functions included are pulse, variable speeds from 1 to 5, ice crush, icy drinks, smoothies, and cleaning cycle.

The blender comes with a Soft Start feature where it starts slowly to allow all the food to come towards the blender before increasing speed, this avoids splatter.

In the video, I will show you how to make almond milk in a blender, how to make hummus in a blender. I’ll also show you how to make thick smoothies in a blender, and also how to make an easy dip and hot sauce in the blender.

Recipes:

Almond milk:
1 cup almonds
2 cups water

Thick Smoothie:
1 fresh orange
1/4 cup coconut milk
1 cup frozen mango
1/2 Tsp Vanilla extract

Tomato chutney dip:
I cup tomatoes chopped
2 garlic cloves
Salt
Lemon juice
A handful of fresh coriander
A few peppermint leaves

Hot sauce dip:
12 Dried chilies
1 Garlic clove
1/2 Tsp Cumin powder
60 - 80mls Water

Hummus:
30oz can chickpeas - drained and reserve water
1/2 cup tahini
2 garlic cloves
1 Fresh lime juice

The K400 blender comes with a 56oz jar and has Intelli-speed motor control which senses ingredients and adjusts speed accordingly when processing. The pre-programmed functions are great for achieving everyday recipes however the variable speed gives you greater control to choose your desired textures. The model I am reviewing is the KSB4027PA in passion red color.

I really liked how well the KitchenAid K400 blender processed food and I especially liked the 13-second cleaning cycle!
